Gig At Sound In Leicester Square

Last night we played 'Sound' in Leicester Square for feedmemusic with 3 other bands Of the I, Redline and Firetone. The line up was strong and varied, just how we like it. Redline had come over from New Zealand to break the UK scene having had success back home and playing alongside acts such as Disturbed, P.O.D, Alter Bridge and Evanescence. They ended their set with a hard rock cover of Thriller and if we hadn't been holding our instruments waiting to go on, we would have been zombie dancing and moon walking across the dance floor or at least attempting to.

We tried out two new tracks, Fly or Die and Hidden, Fly or Die went down especially well and looks set to become a KC staple. We've worked a lot on tightening little pockets of rhythm and melody in some of our well known tracks and with each passing rehearsal we're pushing to get ourselves as tight and focused as possible. Playing a short set with such a range of tempos/ moods is difficult if the execution isn't spot on but judging by the feedback we kept the energy and interest high and that's pretty much the KC ethos.

The whole event was well run so kudos to feedmemusic, Sound was cavernous and set on multiple floors but there was a decent size crowd to fill it and the PA was well setup, so props to the sound man. Paul managed to get one of his cymbals stuck to a stand, it's becoming familiar site to see him surrounded by techs with pliers and screwdrivers trying to fix things! Still we wouldn't want to tame the beast. His doppelganger was also there playing for Firetone, 8 foot tall, skater boy hat, knees at cymbal height, as if Gulliver had stayed in Lilliput and formed a rock band.

Thanks to everyone that came and made the night a success and if you have anypictures please send us links. Hope to see you again on the 24th which is the day after my birthday, Marc KC.

Killing Cupid

I am often asked The meaning behind the name Killing Cupid.

It has many layers really, the most commonly interpreted being, obviously, the hatred of loves offending angel "Cupid"..while the songs I write are alot about relationships, and the song "killing cupid" lyrically denounces the cherub, it is, as far as I intended it to be, the killing of those desires that lead to suffering.

The apple in our logo reprsents temptations, and by extension "cupid" who is according to fable, only the angel of desires, interpreted as "Loves" but on a lower level.

"The love of money causes men to fight and kill, as does the love of ones "God" and religion, the Love of a woman may drive one to kill or die in her name, but if one were to kill Cupid, the author of these deformed loves, would one be absolved of the suffeing they lead to?" ANON

The Album title "Angels eat Apples" alludes that even angels are prone to sin and able to fall

But all these names "Angels" and "Cupid" refer not to celestial beings but to ideals held in the human heart, for by philosophical argument, angels are but representives themselves.

To break the name down in a nutshell is impossible, for that reason we are developing an "Art" ection to the site that will hopefully depict its meaning in a way that words are to clumsy to achieve
